Okay Just so you know that I'm working on stuff and not just taking up space these are some of the stories I'm working on. Oh and in case your wondering yes these are condensed.

The Generation Wars:
Sci-fi - This takes place in the future on the premise that humanity got caught up in some war that has never ended. War has now become a way of life with the concept of peace looked upon in disbelief and disgust when even contemplated as it is less then a myth. The story follows two people one a youth just turned eight as he enters into an academy of war (also known as an "Aka" uh-k-ah) as mandated by law. The other has just become a war Elder after surviving to the age of 38-50 (still working that out) he is now a maker of law with his person inviolate. Any way the point of the story is to explore: how people might live and adapt to a life of war, the potential horrors of war, those traits and virtues that might survive and develop.

Okay so the world structure works like this. You are born into a foster community often times with a twin sibling or siblings. These foster community's are one of the only structures that the armies will not attack. At the age of eight each youth is conscripted into an "Aka" this is usually a moving training ground for an individual army but a few of the strongest armies have built themselves an "Aka" fortress. From which commandos are sent to collect the youth that fuel this war. Once entering an Aka the youths are then trained in the art of war until they turn (if they survive) sixteen at which point they are considered an adult and are given a choice of careers. (the ones they show aptitude in any ways) They are then trained in that field for an additional three years and are required to serve in that field for the next eight years. If they survive to the age of twenty seven they are then valued commodities. Now at this age they are aloud to join any army they choose with a two year contract. With the solder ether renewing or changing contracts every two years until the age of forty five. At which point he/she becomes an Elder. (that is if they are alive at this point!)

??Ages of Folly??(Name still in progress):
Sci-fi - Is about perseverance and enduring. The story follows a youth about 14 years of age who loses his parents to some disaster caused by criminals he is then sent to go live with his uncle who he has never known. On the trip to his uncles he gets this harebrained idea to get revenge against criminal society as a whole (to basically become a vigilante) the uncle seeing that his nephew will eventually find some way to get himself killed if not redirected gets the nephew to realize his goal is pointless without training. The nephew is then offered this training in exchange for following some rules and after promising not to seek revenge until the training is complete... along the path his training takes he meats a girl that beats him at many of the skills he is trying to develop martial arts, strategy... and many more besides creating a friendly rivalry between the two this then develops into a relationship that teaches the youth how to let go. Now while all this has been going on (haven't picked a name yet) has been helping his uncle (a geneticist) in his lab. At this point in the story (??) contracts some retro virus that was being used in his uncles experiments this virus nearly kills (??) leaving him in a coma for several months. When he comes too he is blind and very weak... (taking to long even more watered down version) decides to continue his studies as a form of rehabilitation. In the proses of which he learns that he can... feel? sense? (still trying to come up with a satisfactory explanation) the world around him but only when he's not trying to sense it. (I'll find some way to write that better) any ways that comprises book one and a little of book two.

??Organics??:
Sci-fi - This is actually a merger between to previous ideas in which one of them the main character is a soldier that is wounded in battle but survives through a new medical breakthrough with this becoming a reoccurring theme until he decides to retire and realizes that he is over 300 years old and has been riding the forefront of medical technologies and procedures. The second is a little more futuristics with freelance space pilot crashing but surviving due to a still experimental procedure that has his spinal cord reconstructed by nanites. This new spine sports a simple A.I. program that controls the production and repairs carried out by the nanites (long story short stuff happens lag breaks whatever A.I. offers to fix the problems many of which would have killed him without the A.I. and nanites there to fix him up. Over time he is transformed becoming more and more machine With his A.I. becoming a sort of sentient butler)

Mystics:
Sci-fi - This story is long and well long... Basics are: humanity has taken to the stars and have colonized many worlds with governments becoming just another form of business. Very few aliens have been encountered (none that are technologically advanced) until a large swath of space is discovered to be claimed by an enigmatic race referred to as Mystics... after initial contact with the race all forms of communications (diplomatic and otherwise) are rebuffed until eventuality the Mystics allow one human to come and explore there worlds.

??Lace World??:
Sci-fi - I don't know how to describe how this world is supposed to look except to say that it is open and airy. Now that aside the ecology of the world is based on both symbiotic and parasitic relationships. the world is populated with many different peoples and strange creatures... =)(Will fill in the rest later)

Echoes:
Sci-fi - futuristic setting where humanity begins so detect these retransmissions from space leading humanity to realize that there is life outside our solar system, the world unites in the process of trying to decipher and understand these communications years later with a world finally at peace under one government and great advances made in science through this new found cooperation it is discovered that these communications are really just the echoes of our own civilization being scrambled and sent back our way by a black hole.

(Don't have a name yet):
Sci-fi - Following earths death something broke in mankind’s spirit scattering them to the stars leaving earths children a nomadic people rarely willing to congregate in large groups. In the galactic community humans became known for the mastery and skill they display in all the work they do (this is in part because mankind trained into their genetic code the ability to selectively memorize anything they chose perfectly) and their ability to adjust to almost any environment or situation.

The book I'm going to write using this story idea will be centered around three separate stories that are going to tie together:

The first will be about a young orphaned human child raised on an alien vessel and her search for identity.

The second will be about a young adult male human (19) that joins a mercenary group and how he deals with and adapts to the situations that are thrown at him.

The third and main story line will be about an alien scientist who is trying to find out how or what it is that makes humans so versatile. (I plan on using this third story line to weave together the first two storylines with the book itself being an opportunity to explore the concept of humanity)
